I spent the day in Bosnia and Herzegovina on a day trip from Dubrovnik, Croatia. My main destination was Mostar, but on the way we stopped at the beautiful Kravice Waterfalls. Having just visited Plitvice Lakes National Park outside of Zagreb, I wasn’t sure how magnificent the Kravice Waterfalls would feel. However, once we were there, I was amazed at how big and wide the waterfalls were!
We parked and took the stairs down to the waterfall. Luckily on the wall back up, they had a ramp walkway to take, which offered more views of the waterfalls. Our first glimpse of the falls up close was a wet one! It was a little windy that day and the water was blowing right onto the path. I ended up pretty soaked, but it was worth it to get so close to the waterfalls.
As you walk further down the path, there are some spots further away from the falls for some great pictures. When it’s nice out, you can actually go swimming in the falls and there are bath houses at the top by the parking lot. I imagine it’d be pretty neat to get really up close to the waterfalls!
The next two pictures are views from our walk up the ramp to the top. I was thankful we didn’t have to tackle the stairs and also enjoyed seeing a different perspective of the falls.
I love how greenish blue the water is! I’m curious if anyone has ever gone swimming in the falls? I’d love to return someday to try it!
