Green Mountain Adventure Challenge in Vermont

A friend of mine found a Livingsocial deal for the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge in Vermont. Hmmm… an adventure challenge? I’m sold!

6 of us made the drive to Vermont and spent the weekend wandering around Dover and Wilmington. The deal we purchased from Livingsocial included 2 nights in a hotel. We chose the Matterhorn Inn and I’m glad we did! They had the most delicious breakfast each morning and the owners were the friendliest hotel owners I have ever met. I would definitely stay there again!

The challenge started at a bar where we registered, got our freebies, (drawstring bag, t-shirt, water bottle, and free bagged lunch) and got the first clue. This led us to several places including a hike through the woods, shooting a bow and arrow, wandering around town, and a hike up a mountain. It was a great excuse to get outside and experience a state I’ve spent very little time in.

If you complete the challenge, your name enters a drawing that occurs at the end of the adventure challenge season. The grand prize cash pot is split between the people who have their names drawn.

We didn’t have time to complete the entire challenge because Vermont is such a long drive from NJ, but we did complete the beginner level. The website says the entire challenge takes between 1.5 and 2 days to complete. I’d agree with that and also note that some people never even finish the challenge!

Have you ever tried the Green Mountain Adventure Challenge? What was your experience like?
